Role description

We operate our own storage infrastructure distributed across datacenters throughout Switzerland and Germany. This infrastructure, built on cutting-edge technologies, is doubling every year and requires 24/7 operation.

You will join our infrastructure team and take responsibility for all of the team’s operations management activities. You will ensure that all operational activities, incidents response, and change requests are tracked and carried out in a timely and reliable way. You will work closely with all Proton infrastructure and backend engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the high availability of infrastructure production systems
  • Organize and manage the on-call incident response team
  • Develop and maintain tools and processes for infra operation
  • Facilitate team coordination for incident responses and large changes
  • Lead post-mortem analysis meetings and ensure follow-up
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the monitoring and alerting systems
  • Create, validate, and maintain documentation for the global infrastructure knowledge base

Job requirements

  • 5+ years of successful management experience in an IT operations team, preferably in a large-scale environment
  • Previous experience in systems or network engineering
  • Experience with large infrastructure troubleshooting
  • Certification as an IT service manager or project manager would be an asset (e.g. ITIL, PMP, PRINCE2)
  • Our international environment requires English fluency

  • Well versed in security and a good understanding of security best practices
  • Ability to keep up in an extremely fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in French or German
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field of study and/or scientific background
