What you will do:

As the FP&A Manager you will have the opportunity to shape the financial organization of one of the most forward-thinking tech companies in the world. 

You will be responsible for driving the company’s cross-functional financial planning, analysis, and reporting. Working closely with the Chief Operating Officer, you will structure the finance function for the company and the supporting team of accounting/administrative functions. You will lead the business analysis and modeling efforts, working with the executive team as a business partner to evaluate options across a wide variety of business decisions. You will assist in defining and reporting on meaningful metrics to drive insightful and data-led business decisions. You will also work with various department leaders to analyze budgetary needs, investment proposals, and support the rhythm of the business reporting process which you will also help to establish. Additionally, you will lead the introduction of a cloud-based ERP solution, including defining processes, designing reporting structures, evaluating and selecting vendors, overseeing implementation, and leading the ongoing financial operations.


Role and responsibilities: 

  • Establish the structure of the finance function for the company and the supporting team of accounting/administrative functions
  • Lead financial planning across the company, including quarterly, annual, and long-term (five-year) forecasting
  • Strategically manage ongoing financial analysis, including monthly/quarterly budget and churn numbers, making recommendations on best practices to improve operations
  • Lead forecasting and budgeting, partnering with department leaders on monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and analysis
  • Lead the month-end, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Establish and maintain key metrics to help provide insights to business performance including customer acquisition costs, sales productivity, pipeline velocity, etc.
  • Build complex financial models and analyses, including competitive analysis, gross margin analysis, pro forma models, scenario-based models with sensitivities, etc.
  • Provide financial expertise to help support headcount planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning
  • Develop and implement efficient financial processes that support our rapidly growing business
  • Prepare and analyze management presentations, including monthly reporting, board reporting, quarterly business reviews, and finance reviews
  • Lead the introduction of a cloud-based ERP solution from process and reporting design, vendor evaluation and selection, solution implementation and ongoing operations


Job requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in FP&A, preferably at either a high-tech or software company
    • Deep experience with various financial applications, including ERP, CRM, and financial planning applications (SAP Hana 4, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday, Salesforce, Excel, etc.)
    • Familiarity with both consumer and enterprise software metrics and models specifically related to SaaS, e.g. experience calculating and comparing churn, committed monthly recurring revenue, net dollar retention rates, cohort growth rates, lifetime value, customer acquisition cost, etc.
    • Excellent knowledge of primary financial reporting standards including IFRS and US GAAP
    • Strong analytical experience, with expertise in financial modelling and risk assessment
    • Experience building financial reporting decks for various audiences including both internal and external stakeholders (board of directors, executives, product groups, commercial teams, investors, and analyst community)
    • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast growing startup environment, with an ability to balance strategic initiatives and operational execution
    • Experience working in a highly diverse international culture and with team members spread across the globe
    • Bachelor’s degree in finance or related discipline, a master’s degree is preferred, as well as an accountancy certification
    • A strong affinity for our mission which is to defend human rights and democracy through building software that is essential for digital freedom and privacy protection for all Internet users
    • Experience with M&A, banking, and currency markets are a plus
