Role description

As a member of our Content Team, you will help create copy that inspires people to take steps toward securing their digital lives, engage with our products, and build an internet where privacy is the default.

The Proton Content Team is rapidly expanding and seeking copywriters with proven experience in multiple specializations:

  • SEO content writer — You have the ability to write articles and landing pages that condense difficult tech and privacy concepts into powerful and clear prose, with a deep understanding of search engine optimization and top-of-funnel messaging.
  • UX/UI copywriter — You will learn everything about Proton products and build data-based knowledge about how people use them, then help craft copy and experiences that drive daily engagement.
  • Conversion copywriter — You understand the power of persuasive writing, including proven best practices for digital marketing conversion, and can adapt your skills to Proton’s unique objectives and brand voice.
  • Privacy analyst — You are a strong voice in the world of online privacy, delivering insights and original research that empower internet users to protect their data and build an internet that puts people over profit.

We prize writers who can quickly grasp difficult technical topics and turn abstract ideas into persuasive, actionable copy. The role is more proactive than reactive. You’ll work closely with the Head of Content and stakeholders throughout the company to identify opportunities, develop strategies, analyze results, and deliver clean copy on tight deadlines. Working at Proton requires a strong understanding of what makes our user community tick. You will be an important voice in the transition to a private internet.

When applying for this position, please indicate which specialization among the four listed above you believe you are most qualified for.

For candidates working in our Switzerland, Lithuania and Macedonia offices, this is an employee position. For those working remotely elsewhere, this is a full-time contract position.

Responsibilities:

  • Researching and synthesizing complex information into easily digestible pieces of content.
  • Writing short-form copy for different digital media, such as video, audio, printed materials, website, and social media.
  • Identifying and proposing growth strategies and tactics for the Content Team and executing these ideas.
  • Optimizing content for search engines, to generate leads, and to increase conversion.
  • Generating and pitching new content ideas on topics germane to the Proton brand.
  • Providing feedback to other contributors and editing other writers’ content.
  • Working with the marketing team on analytical projects to improve blog strategies and tactics.
  • Contributing to the growth of the overall number of visitors, converting visitors into leads, and expanding our blog’s overall reach through delivering quality content.
