What you will do:

As the Accounting Manager, you will oversee the set-up, ongoing management, and continuous improvement of the company’s accounting and reporting policies. This includes reviewing and analyzing finances, ensuring compliance with regulations and refining reporting documentation. This is all performed while verifying the integrity and accuracy of financial operations, safeguarding organisational assets and developing efficient business processes to record revenue.
The Accounting Manager is also responsible for overseeing certain contracts as it relates to financial reporting, leading strategic planning for accounting policies and maintaining internal controls over financial transactions. Moreover, this role will have a remit to support the planning of the financial function itself within the company to build a world-class finance department that will enable the rapid scaling of the business

Role and responsibilities: 

  • Manage the general accounting function,
  • Develop accounting organisational strategies by contributing accounting and financial information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; Establishing functional objectives in line with organisational objectives,
  • Oversee the completion of ledger accounts and financial statements,
  • Evaluate and make appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organisation,
  • Provide financial projections by coordinating budget/forecast preparation; collecting, analysing, and consolidating financial information; Advising departments on the collection and analysis of data,
  • Lead and direct the work of others,
  • Maintain sufficient funds by forecasting cash requirements and obligations,
  • Support the planning of capitalisation options for the company,
  • Advise on tax strategies to management; File returns.

Job requirements

  • At least 7+ years of experience in the field of accounting,
  • Proficiency in the use ERP, BI, Accounting and Payroll solutions (various), data modelling skills, as well as productivity tools,
  • Prior experience technology / digital related industries, companies, or practices,
  • Prior experience preparing information for audits,
  • Strong organisation skills, flexibility and the ability to set priorities,
  • Ability to prioritise and juggle concurrent demands,
  • Work accurately with close attention to detail,
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information,
  • Master’s Degree preferable in Accounting or related discipline with professional certifications such as CPA,
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
